Description

2.2 billion people around the globe experience vision impairment or blindness, an area to which UNICEF is committed as part of the AT2030 programme. In collaboration with WHO, UNICEF will add different assistive technology product ranges into our global supply catalogue, in this case for vision products. The goal of this project is to increase availability and affordability of optimal vision products and services in low- and middle-income countries through establishment of Long Term Arrangements (LTAs) over the coming years with relevant, qualified suppliers.

The products identified fall under the following categories:

Category 1:  Eye and vision screening

Category 2:  Comprehensive eye examination – Refractive services

Category 3:  Spectacles and optical low vision aids

Category 4:  Blindness
