New clarification added: CLARIFICATIONS RECEIVEDWe request for following clarifications -Lot 4 SEED DRYER : Please reconfirm that you do not need spare parts for Lot 4 Seed Dryer because it is mentioned only in Lot 1, 2 and 3 and not mentioned in Lot 4.We don't have a service station in Ghana Delivery points and if we undertake to appoint them after award of contract - will this be acceptable and will our bid not be rejected.Please confirm Lot 3  wheather the SEED PROCESSOR will be used for PADDY or for some other seed as the type of seed is not mentioned in the technical details.         RESPONSE TO CLARIFICATION 1, 2 & 3         Dear M P,        Please below are the responses to your clarificationThough not stated, bidders should provide all spare parts needed to be used especially within the warranty period . No specific spare parts were mentioned so bidder could be at liberty to supply spare part they deem suitable for the brand/make of dryers to be supplied        2.The service point is a part of the requirement and should be provided.        3. New clarification added: CLARIFICATION RECEIVEDreference is made to Section II Schedule of requirements – Technical Specifications - Lot 2 – items 2.3 and 2.5From the analysis of the requirements, the process, and the P&ID, we are unclear on the capacities of the equipment.Starting from the 3 to 5 ton/hr of the pre-cleaner and destoner, the Huller/Husker indicates a capacity 2 to 5 ton/hr which we assume from the other specifications might be more 4 to 5 ton/hr rather than 2 to 5.Coming to the Whitener/Polisher the sizing appears to us too small to handle quantities close to 5 ton/hr coming from the earlier process (which will become  easily 4 tons/hr after first stage). The question is if we should propose two equipment in parallel row for whitening and then one for polishing (to use for first pass whitening, second pass whitening and 1 pass polishing), or one larger equipment for the capacity of about 4 tons/hr having better capacity and performance. In both cases the equipment would be out of specifications.Kindly advise or please widen the capacity for item 2.5.Finally please note that the packaging/bagging unit requires a compressor to be added unless one is already available at site. Please advise.RESPONSE TO CLARIFCATIONDear Sabina1. Please the capacities mentioned are the minimum. You can widen the capacity for the item 2.5 (whitener/polisher) as specified by their manufacturers to enhance its efficiency.2. We do not have a compressor on site. If that unit requires a compressor for it to work efficiently then you are supposed to include it though it is not captured in the specifications. In the end, you will be required required to install the facility on site and test-run it . Failure for the system to run efficiently as expected would not be accepted by UNOPS.Thanks

New clarification added: Dear Procurement TeamReference Lot4: Seed Dryer; Item No 1.7: Citing Drying Rate @0.8 - 1.2%/hour.  CLARIFICATION 1. We wish to state that it's impossible to dry at that rate....  Because it shall leave hamper the quality of seed output.Seed drying is required to be done at a very slow drying rate ... probably at a rate less than 0.3%/Hr. and within a maximum heat temperature of 45 Degree.May it be validated to facilitate matching Seed Dryer.CLARIFICATION 2.
