A. Services 1. The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (“UNJSPF” or “the Fund”), Investment Management Division (IMD) is looking for an industry-leading (Financial markets) Data Management Solution (DMS) as managed services supporting the entire investment lifecycle. This will benefit all stakeholders, including: Portfolio Managers, Traders, Compliance, Risk and Performance, Back-office (Operations) with high-quality and reliable data and flexible reporting. The solution should be able to provide integration with existing systems and also have the capability to provide an advanced data-centric system platform, which should be at the core of all the investment management processes. The financial data warehouse system will follow the implementation of best practices for system customization, all allow seamlessly establishing connection with most financial data providers, financial communication protocols and interfaces. The Solution should provide the following basic features: • The DMS will facilitate data governance, data stewardship of data assets and a transparent audit trail using a data-centric gold standard • The DMS will provide workflows to validate, compare, enrich and reconcile positions, cash flows, forecasting, daily transactions and static data (security master) across multiple sources, reducing operational risk; provides data scrubbing, versioning • The DMS will simplify operational work and data flows of IMD, and provide integration between order management/trading system and, mid- and back-offices including settlement, clearing institutions, and corporate actions from multiple sources. Integrate with the Master Record Keeper (ABOR), custodian, fund managers and brokers. Provides real-time interfaces to external providers such as Bloomberg, Risk Metrics, BaraOne etc. • The DMS will provide a predefined enterprise wide data model with incoming data connectors to allow IMD populate the entire enterprise data model or individual data sets. Outgoing data services will provide downstream data decimation • Reconciliation, Analytics, Business Intelligence, and reporting, with a dynamic reporting tool that allows IMD create customized, presentation-quality reports with high levels of security, and data governance controls for distribution via various channels, such as Raw Data, PDF, XLS, PPTX, HTML, e-mail, or the Web • Support of the DMS in a mission-critical role, including a 24/6 environment with high availability and disaster recovery The DMS provider shall carry out a complete system customization, quality assurance, implementation, installation (or secure access to their site), training, documentation, technical support, user support, and maintenance of their product for the IMD. As a managed service, the contractor will both support the implementation with a complete workflow, and continue to provide maintenance and support after installation. B. Brief Description of the Fund: The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund was established by the General Assembly of the United Nations (“UN”) to provide retirement, death, disability and related benefits for the staff of the UN and 22 other international intergovernmental organizations admitted to membership in the Fund. The UNJSPF provides retirement, death, disability and related benefits for the staff of the UN and other international organizations admitted to membership of the Fund. The UNJSPF is primarily an internally managed fund, with approximately USD $65 billion under management as of January 2018. Approximately 60% of the fund is invested in Global Equity, 27% in Global Fixed Income, 6% in Real Assets, 3% in Alternative Assets. 8% of the total fund is invested in externally managed funds such as real assets and private equity (limited partnerships), small-cap equities, emerging markets debt and equity fund whereas the rest of the fund is internally managed.
