MRE (Meals Ready to Eat)

United Nations Headquarters facilities in New York City is seeking qualified companies which will provide MREs (Meals Ready to Eat) with the specifications indicated herebelow. The interested companies are requested to respond to this Expression of Interest document according to the instructions given in the following "Specific Requirements / Information" section. The specifications of the MREs are: - Self-heating system activated by water, - 12 meals per box (Fully prepared, 1200 calories a day and high in protein), - Shelf life of 5 years based on storage temperature, - Meals should include breakfast, lunch and dinner (serving a variety of at least 6 different main entrees, meat and vegetarian included), - Meals can be eaten hot or cold, - Meals should include side-dishes and desserts, - Meals should be designed for the needs of civilians, not military, - Meals should include a variety of spreads, coffees and beverage powders in addition to utensils, coffee creamer, sugar, wet wipes, napkins, salt, pepper and vitamin-enriched snacks such as crackers.
