Description
The courier and package delivery services shall include the following mail categories: a. Same Day; b. Next Business Day; c. 2 Business Days; d. 3 Business Days; e. Ground Delivery. The Contractor must be responsible for providing all personnel, equipment, material and supplies, and for making all arrangements necessary to perform the services. The Contractor will be responsible to provide the following services for the UN domestic courier mail and package: (i) Must perform all handling of mail, including, but not limited to: mail pick-up service from the UN Headquarters, located in New York, N.Y. 10017, United States, in accordance with the following schedule: a) Pick-up from the Mail facilities in the UN Headquarters Monday through Friday (except Official UN Holidays) between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) during the non-General Debate period of the annual UN General Assembly; b) Pick-up from the Mail facilities in the UN Headquarters Monday through Friday (except Official UN Holidays) between 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. (Eastern Standard Time), due to the heightened security measures, during (i) the General Assembly/General Debate weeks from the middle to the end of September and (ii) other high-level meetings and/or events (the Contractor shall be notified in writing in advance); c) Pick-up during national and local holidays which are not observed by the UN. (ii) Shall provide ad-hoc pick-up services upon request; (iii) Shall provide pick-up services at other locations and times upon request; (iv) Must scan all shipments/mails/packages upon picking-up at the UN mail rooms; (v) Must return undeliverable mail to the Mail Operations Unit of the United Nations; (vi) Shall indicate on each mail piece the reason for return; (vii) Shall provide the UN with daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly and/or any period statistical reports during the contract period as needed. The reports shall include, but not limited to, the following details: service type, origin, destination, total pieces, total weight (lbs); and/or provide the UN with the capability to generate such reports directly from Contractor’s IT System; The initial contract term will be for three (3) years, with the option to extend for three (3) additional one-year periods at the sole discretion of the United Nations, under the existing terms and conditions.
