Invitation to bid for the Supply of Hardware, Software, Installation and maintenance services for the Jet Mobile Follow Me Printing system in Green One UN House in Hanoi, Vietnam

The UN Agencies in Vietnam are housed in different locations at Hanoi. A new building is in the final stages of completion and this will house 13 UN Agencies. Comprehensive network architecture has been drawn up to provide a secure access to the various ICT resources within UN One House and also provide a seamless access to the corporate applications of the different agencies.

The UN House will implement the follow me printing facility for 400 staff and 15 multi-function device printers. The follow me printing facility will provide a flexible facility that enables printing from any printer on the network, while also ensuring that users print jobs are only released when they swipe their card at a printer. This will eliminate the incidents of users losing what they have printed (because it was taken by someone else), and also address the issue of confidentiality often expressed by users as the print job is only released when the user swipes their card at the printer. The facility enhances the improved use of printers and toner as all print jobs sent to the printer and not released by the user are deleted from the queue after specific number of hours. This will establish more efficient user of printers and reduce wastage by users, and hence reduce cost of printer consumables and paper used, and will additionally contribute to the Greening efforts and design of the One UN House.
