Description
The Security and Safety Service at UN Headquarters (SSS) is seeking qualified companies to provide rental of X-ray screening machines and walk-through metal detectors (magnetometers). Every year during the United Nations General Assembly summit at the Headquarters in New York, the Security and Safety Service (SSS) screening operations are increased, and rental of additional X-ray and magnetometer machines is required annually for the 3 - 4 week period (Approximate dates: 11 September - 10 October 2014.) The SSS is seeking companies to provide rental of these machines, including a standby X-ray technician, for the GA period, and for other conferences and meetings on an as-required basis. The specifications of the machines are as follows and should meet or exceed compatible specifications: X-Ray Machines: Small Capacity- L3 Model PX 5.3 OR EQUIVALENT, approximately 19 machines needed. Large Capacity- L3 Model PX 6.4 OR EQUIVALENT, approximately 8 machines needed. Walk-Through Metal Detectors (Magnetometers) Metorex/Rapiscan #200 OR EQUIVALENT, approximately 17 machines needed. The Contractor shall be responsible for delivery/installation and pick-up/dismantling of the machines to and from the UN Headquarters in NY. Upon selection of product, vendor(s) will be required to install and provide training on the functions of the x-ray machines and magnetometers as required as well as ensure that all security screening equipment are operational and running optimally. On Site Standby Technician must be knowledgeable in troubleshooting and repair, including replacement with standby X-ray units if repairs cannot be performed within a reasonable timeframe. The machine will be installed in areas deemed fit by UN SSS within the United Nations HQ.
