Description
The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from reputable companies to provide Horizontal Engineering (general ground preparation) and Vertical Engineering (installation and commissioning of equipment and facilities) Services for the development of camps situated in the various regions of the Central African Republic. These include: Bouar Berberati Bossango Kaga Bandoro Ndele Bria Bangassou Bambari The size of the sites may vary from 850 troops down to 150 troops. The vendor shall have qualified professional engineering staff with experience in Horizontal and Vertical Engineering Services. The envisaged works shall include, but shall not be limited to the following: Horizontal Engineering works such as site surveys (topographical and boundary), campsite preparation and earthworks, clearing and grubbing of selected sites, selective demolition at the such sites (if required), exploratory excavations for fill sources, delivery of fill materials to these sites, spreading and compacting fill materials including grading of the land. Works may also include drainage construction, internal roads and vertical construction works such as camp residential and office accommodation using tents or prefabricated units as well as hard wall structures, field defenses such as perimeter fencing and watchtower construction, waste water treatment, electrical power generation and distribution, water storage facilities, recreational and welfare facilities, among others. These works may be on a turnkey basis or be contracted separately into vertical and horizontal works with the United Nations possibly providing some of the needed materials and requirements. It is expected that initial sites will be needed within two to three months. Most of these activities will need to be conducted during the CAR rainy season and contractors should be aware of the difficulty of securing and moving material around the country and of the general challenges of operating and undertaking construction works within the CAR environment. Detailed scope of requirements with technical specifications, quantities required as well as expected delivery dates will be provided within the UN's Request for Proposals (RFP) which will be sent out to all vendors responding to this expression of interest (EOI).
