Communities Climate Adaptation Facility for Fiji advanced by Global Centre for Climate Mobility
The Communities Climate Adaptation Facility (C-CAF) community grants focus on results for vulnerable populations across multiple sectors, including basic services like water and sanitation, environment, health, housing, and workforce development. The grants can benefit populations that are isolated or have lost access to government services in areas exposed to climate risk, as well as communities moving or relocating due to climate impacts. Furthermore, these grants will support communities welcoming new arrivals to ensure their successful adaptation and integration into the local community and economy. Adaptation measures will also enhance livelihood opportunities for relocated communities while ensuring that rehabilitation efforts integrate gender-sensitive, socially inclusive, and culturally appropriate interventions. The grants will also focus on rehabilitating ecosystems, preserving community culture and heritage, and supporting livelihoods that have been adversely affected by climate change. Special attention will be given to projects led by women, indigenous groups, persons with disabilities, and other marginalized populations to ensure equitable climate adaptation strategies.
The tender contains sustainability considerations for preventing or minimizing damage associated with climate change.
Examples:
Energy efficiency, greenhouse gas reporting and emission offsetting.
