Description
The Internet over Satellite (IoS) solutions must provide seamless and secure Internet connectivity under diverse environmental conditions, including extreme weather, dust, and logistical constraints. The primary technical requirements include: - Connectivity and Performance: • Dedicated and Shared Bandwidth Options: Service categories from mini (<15 Mbps) to large (100-300 Mbps). • Latency: Satellite link latency shall not exceed 600 milliseconds round-trip. • Adaptive Bandwidth Scaling: Capability to modify uplink/downlink configurations as required. - Network Infrastructure and Equipment: • Transportable and Fixed Installations: Includes options for permanent bases, mobile vehicular units, and rapid-deployment emergency systems. • Hardware Standards: Equipment must be ITU-approved, ruggedized for field operations • Power Supply Integration: Support for solar-powered, DC, and AC power configurations. - Security and Compliance: • Data Protection and Encryption: Minimum AES 256-bit encryption for data, voice, and video transmissions. • Secure Access Control: Implementation of firewalls, VPNs, and user authentication measures. • Regulatory Compliance: Adherence to host country licensing, UN policies, and ITU global telecommunications standards. - Service Management and Support: • 24/7 Network Monitoring and Incident Response: Proactive fault detection, diagnostics, and real-time troubleshooting. • Service-Level Agreements (SLAs): Providers must commit to 99.95% uptime, with defined response and resolution times for incidents. • Technical Training and Capacity Building: Provision of user manuals, hands-on training, and remote/onsite support.
