Supply and Delivery of Containerized Laundry Facility to the United Nations Global Service Centre, Brindisi, Italy

The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC), Brindisi has a requirement for the one-time purchase of ten (10) Containerized Laundry Facility – Washing and Drying System, with delivery at its premises located in Brindisi, Italy for replenishing the Strategic Deployment Solutions (SDS). The Containerized Laundry module shall be supplied as brand new ISO rated 20-foot size container facility and it must include standard system components complete with insulation package for walls, roof, floor, all associated ventilation, plumbing system, electrical power distribution and lighting system materials, and all equipment, fittings, systems, etc., pre-assembled, pre-installed, and pre-secured, ready to be connected to water, power, and sewage lines. The Laundry facility shall be suitable to be handled by truck, crane and multi-lift and transport by sea, road and air, and comply with the latest international shipping regulations for transportation. The supplied items shall be appropriate for use in harsh environmental conditions and suitable for different climate zones (e.g., desert, tropical areas, mountain sites, etc.) in which there are several variations of the relative natural forces (e.g., temperature, humidity, wind, and other climatic conditions). The Containerized Laundry facility shall adhere to the following main requirements: a. The proposed solutions shall be supplied along with relevant engineering designs: i. The structural design and construction method of the laundry facility. The design and calculations shall demonstrate adherence to the specific loading requirements. ii. Design of water supply / wastewater/ filtering systems and all electrical appliances (washing machines/tumble dryers), plumbing fixtures, and accessories, with detailed design of connection points (inlets/ outlets) iii. Design of electrical / air conditioning / ventilation / fire-fighting systems, with detailed design of connection points (inlets/ outlets) b. The relevant engineering designs shall be performed under the oversight of a professional civil/structural and electric engineers, certified and approved by licensed professional civil/structural and electric engineers in the bidder’s country of manufacture where the bidder is either a manufacturer or authorised dealer c. Modular design to allow scalability. d. The laundry facility shall be complete with all equipment, fittings, systems, etc., pre-assembled, pre-installed, and pre-secured, ready to be connected to water, power, and sewage lines. e. All the components (structure, envelope, appliances, equipment, fittings, systems, etc.) shall be of commercial grade, pre-assembled, pre-installed and pre-secured to withstand multiple trans-shipments, storage, deployment and re-deployment operations. f. The laundry facility shall be compatible for placement on levelled and compacted surfaces or raised on equally spaced concrete pads or blocks. g. The Containerized Laundry module can also be supplied as a prefabricated structure, pre-built and shall meet all the characteristics, specifications equivalent to the ISO rated container facility. h. The equipment set-up shall allow for an optimal space utilization and easy maintenance of the professional washing machines and professional tumble dryers. i. As a possible solution, the Bidder(s) may consider washing machines and stackable tumble dryers for optimized space utilization. j. The laundry facility shall be equipped with, but not limited to, the following main features, as a minimum: i. Commercial Washing machines, size 6-15kg ii. Commercial Tumble Dryers size 6-15kg iii. Ironing station iv. Utility sink v. Working table and bench vi. Shelving vii. Air conditioning viii. Electrical system (e.g. switches, sockets, cabling, LED lights, etc.) ix. Water heater x. Water filtering system xi. Plumbing (pipes, valves, pumps, etc.) xii. Fire protection system xiii. Extractor fans k. The containerized laundry unit is expected to be combining laundry equipment with smart technology to optimize performance, efficiency, and user experience. l. Durability: The period for which the product is expected the function at its designated capacity without major repairs or replacement shall be of at least five (5) years after installation or minimum five (5) assembly/disassembly cycles and be able to withstand multiple trans-shipments, storage, deployment and re-deployment operations. All equipment shall be designed and manufactured in accordance with the relevant current international or national codes, standards, and regulations, including, but not limited to the following: • EUROCODE • ISO • BS EN • NIJ • Other proven equivalent international standard.
