Description
The UN Procurement Division is seeking expressions of interest from qualified vendors for the provision of all terrain 4x4 vehicles, pick-ups, sedans, minibuses and medium buses, including spare parts and ancillary services in support of UN field missions and UN Entities worldwide, on the basis of long-term agreement(s) for a period of 3 years, with 2 one-year extensions at the UN's option. The planned tender is the result of vehicle volumes consolidation among several UN Entities, aimed at fulfilling the widest possible range of requirements, in a variety of operating environments globally. The large majority of vehicles utilized by the United Nations are diesel left-hand drive, however petrol and right-hand drive vehicles are also required. Brief description of the required vehicle categories: i. Medium Duty 4x4 station wagon type with robust suspension to allow competent all weather off-road performance combined with good highway characteristics, with payload 500-700 kgs, provided in three variants (General Purpose, VIP and Police Patrol). ii. Heavy Duty 4x4 station wagon type with heavy duty suspension for full time off-road use, excellent ground clearance and excellent wading depth, with a payload above 700 kgs, provided in three variants (General Purpose, VIP and Police Patrol). iii. Heavy duty utility intended for service in the harshest environments. Its payload should allow it to be used as the basis for a number of variants. Capabilities include: heavy duty suspension, payload in excess of 1,000kg, excellent ground clearance, excellent wading depth, high-low range transfer case, differential locks, extended range fuel tanks. iv. Sedan (small, medium and large) vehicles to accommodate 4 passengers plus driver in two rows of seats, with four (4) side doors, two on each side for passengers' access, plus cargo area. v. Bus with robust suspension, all round windows and cargo area provided in two variants (Mini and Medium sizes). vi. Pick-up truck for transport of up to 4 passengers and cargo with a payload of up to 1,000 kg provided in two variants (Single and Double Cabin). The current list of UN field missions and UN Entities can be downloaded from the UN Procurement Division website: http://www.un.org/depts/ptd/conditions.htm (see the bottom of the webpage). After-sale services – The United Nations normally maintains its own vehicle fleet. However, a good after-sale service package is required, including warranty, provision of spare parts, training of UN staff (including on-site maintenance training in field missions), technical assistance, tools and equipment, as and when required. To this effect, local dealers are desirable and, if available, should have the ability to maintain and repair the vehicles. In some countries where the UN does not have in-house vehicle maintenance capabilities, dealership may be a requirement. Details on the technical specifications and after-sale support requirements shall be provided to vendors in the solicitation document.
