Description
In 2024, the United Nations (UN) Common Services in Kenya transitioned to the Common Back Office (CBO) to align its service provision for enhanced efficiency. As part of this transition, UNON was selected as the service provider for the provision of procurement services for common goods and services to several UN Agencies, Funds and Programmes in Kenya. United Nations Office at Nairobi (hereinafter referred to as NON) seeks to establish non-exclusive contract(s) with qualified companies for the provision of International Courier and Diplomatic Pouch Services to handle official mails and packages sent out and received by the UN Agencies, Funds and Programmes in Kenya. The Mail and Pouch Unit (MPU) at UNON is responsible for coordinating international courier and diplomatic pouch services for various UN entities based in Kenya, and will also be in charge of managing any resulting contracts. UNON has direct pouch service to UN offices in New York, Geneva, Vienna, Rome, Athens, Cairo, Beirut, Addis Ababa, Bangkok, Montreal, Panama, Paris and various UNEP and UNHABITAT Regional Offices, UNDP Field Offices in Africa, and other destinations worldwide as listed in Annex A. MPU also receives diplomatic pouches from those offices on a frequent basis. The contract is anticipated to be for a period of three years with an option to extend for two additional periods of one year each (3+1+1). The primary objective is to provide Diplomatic Pouch and International Courier Services to UNON and other UN entities. The selected vendor will be responsible for leveraging their extensive global network to ensure timely and efficient service delivery, while adhering to the guidelines set forth by the MPU and the Central Support Service at UNON. UNON does not guarantee a minimum or maximum volume of shipments. The contractor must posses the necessary infrastructure, corporate governance policies, and a qualified management team and staff to effectively meet UNON's courier requirements.
