Description
The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) located in Brindisi – Italy seeks qualified contractors to establish a long-term contract for the rental of construction equipment with operator and light vehicle recovery truck services at the UNGSC. The requested services are divided into two distinct components as follows: Part 1: Construction Equipment Rental Services with Operator - Site Inspection: The contractor is required to inspect the construction sites and provide technical advice and feedback. - Contractor’s Safety Plan (POS): The contractor must provide a safety plan in accordance with Italian Law 81/08. - Transfer Costs: Covers the transportation of construction equipment to and from the UNGSC compound. - Earth Movement Machinery and Equipment: Includes a variety of equipment such as skid steer loaders, road rollers, front end loaders, backhoes, excavators, dump trucks, and motor graders. - Cranes: Various cranes (5 ton, 10 ton, 35 ton, and 60 ton) are included. - Specialized Platforms/Man Lifts: Both outdoor and indoor types are included, with equipment like man lifts and electric platforms. - Emergency Call-Out Services: Includes charges for day and night calls for emergency services within specified hours. - Part 2: Recovery Truck Services with Driver for Light Vehicles (up to 5 tons) - Weekdays (08:00 - 22:00): Includes call-out services and transport within and beyond 50 km from UNGSC. - Weekdays (22:01 - 07:59): Includes late-night call-outs and transportation within and beyond 50 km. - Weekends and Public Holidays (24 hours): Includes call-out services and transport The award of the contract may be split according to the following two distinct components:  Part 1. Rental services for construction equipment, including an operator.  Part 2. Light vehicle recovery truck services. The Bidder participating in Part 1: Construction Equipment Rental Services with Operator is permitted to subcontract Part 2: Recovery Truck Services, and vice versa. The Bidder is also permitted to subcontract minor activities, including but not limited to transportation, supply, and the rental and/or leasing of part or all of the equipment and vehicle fleet. However, the primary services—namely, the rental of construction equipment with operator and the provision of light vehicle recovery truck services - must remain under the direct responsibility of the Contractor(s). The resulting contract(s) will be established for an initial term of three (3) years, with the UNGSC option to extend the contract(s) for two (2) additional periods of one (1) year each (3+1+1 years), subject to the Contractor's satisfactory performance and the UNGSC operational requirements. Full technical requirements and administrative instructions will be provided with a solicitation document to be issued at a later stage after the closing date for this EOI. This REOI does not constitute a solicitation. The UNGSC reserves the right to change or cancel the requirements during the REOI and solicitation process.
