Hazard Risk and Vulnerability Analysis (HRVA) of the city of Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh)

The main objective of the proposed multi-hazard risk and vulnerability analysis exercise is to assess the extent of risk and the vulnerabilities at the city level, i.e. Visakhapatnam City.  The outcome of the exercise is expected to help identify a set of structural and non-structural steps that UNDP, City Administration and other stakeholders can take to mitigate the risks posed by various hazards. The scope of the exercise also includes the projected climate change scenarios (short term, medium term and long term) taking into account the past trends so that the recommended solutions and actions could be linked with the DM policy, sectoral planning and implementation of multi-hazard risk mitigation initiatives at community, ward and city  levels.
