The United Nations Department of Global Communications (DGC) in New York is seeking interested qualified vendors to design, create, and operate/maintain the virtual United Nations (UN) Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai, Japan. The Expo is scheduled to take place from 13 April 2025 to 13 October 2025. The selected vendor is expected to design, create, and test the virtual expo content by the opening of the Expo in April 2025. Subsequently, the vendor will be responsible for operating and maintaining the virtual pavilion throughout the entire duration of the Expo. The virtual UN pavilion will mirror the actual UN Pavilion on the Expo grounds and display exhibits and events about the work of the UN and the people the organization serves. The selected vendor must use Unity-based authoring tools and a Web-based authoring tool provided by the Expo Association, and the content should be presented in both Japanese and English. Key responsibilities will likely include: - Creation of the virtual interior space and virtual exhibits mirroring the physical UN Pavilion space with 3-D CG objects and images. (Note: The physical UN pavilion is Type B. The design of the façade and interior space of the physical pavilion and exhibition contents will be provided by the UN to the selected vendor) - Management of events in the virtual UN pavilion and virtual event halls, including video streaming of live events. All virtual exhibits and events must be user-friendly and appealing to the audience, using cutting-edge technology and an interactive interface. - (To be confirmed) Maintain the applications developed and regularly maintain and update the contents during the entire period of the Expo 2025, and possibly archive the contents for the UN platform. - (To be confirmed) Establishment/management of an online UN Pavilion gift shop in cooperation with a third-party company that will manage the gift shop inside the physical UN Pavilion. A detailed Scope of Requirement (SoR) will be provided under the Request for Proposal (RFP) document, to be sent to the companies who respond to this REOI.
