Construction of Maritime Police Training Center Phase-2-Camp AAIA, Mogadishu, Somalia.

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Regional Office for East Africa (UNODC ROEA) invites qualified interested firms to submit Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in the upcoming solicitation for the Construction of Maritime Police Training Center Phase-2-Camp AAIA, Mogadishu, Somalia. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) through its Global Maritime Crime Programme (GMCP) in Somalia and Horn of Africa is mandated to support member states to strengthen the maritime law enforcement capacities needed to counter illicit activities at sea. Combating maritime crime poses an immense challenge to member states, many of which struggle to combat crime for lack of resources and technical ability. One of the interventions undertaken by GMCP is the construction of Training facilities aiming at the delivery of shared Maritine Law Enforcement (MLE) agencies boarding exercises, allowing the Target States gain law enforcement skills while enhancing cooperation and enabling future coordination. The Scope of Services for the Construction of Maritime Police Training Center Phase-2-Camp AAIA, Mogadishu, Somalia includes; 1. Civil works: The activities included are Site preparation, Excavations, Form work, Concrete works, Brick work, Plastering, Tiling, Water-Proofing and Painting. 2. Electrical works: The activities included are Installation of conduit system, Wiring/Cable Installation, Installation of Electrical fittings (Such as Switches/sockets-etc), Installation of lighting system, Termination of appliances, Testing and Commissioning of Electrical system. 3. Plumbing works: The activities included are Installation of Internal/Slab Piping system, Installation of clean water system, Installation of plumbing fittings (Such as gate valves, elbows,Tees,Sockets), Termination of appliances such us kitchen sinks, Toilet accessories and Testing and Commissioning of plumbing system. 4. Photovoltaic system works (PV-Solar System): The activities included are Installation of Solar Panel Rack, Installation of Battery Rack, Installation of Solar Panels, Cabling/wiring of solar system, Termination of Solar system, Testing and Commissioning of Solar system. 5. Drainage and External works: Activities included are Site Preparation, Excavation, Backfilling and levelling of ground, Installation of Drainage Channels and Installation of Paving blocks. The deployment of international staff obliges the UN-Habitat Somalia country programme to contract suitable accommodation services to ensure business continuity within the region.
