Description
The United Nations is seeking expressions of interest from companies interested in participating in a solicitation process to identify a suitable vendor for a contractual agreement for the provision of bookselling services for the United Nations (UN) Bookshop. The UN Bookshop is a specialized outlet selling United Nations and other UN system publications, as well as related trade titles and souvenir items to the visiting general public, UN staff members and delegates. In addition, the UN Bookshop provides mail order and internet order service to UN agencies, regional offices, and private customers. The vendor will be expected to provide services in the UN Bookshop, which may include, inter-alia, the provision of adequate number of personnel to operate the bookshop, assisting in small size events (e.g. book presentations, moderated group discussions), managerial and supervisory functions, customer service, receiving and bookkeeping. The services shall be performed at the location of the UN Bookshop located in the Visitor's Concourse of the United Nations General Assembly Building at the United Nations Headquarters at 45th Street and First Avenue, New York. However, the United Nations reserves the right to request that the personnel occasionally perform some of the services related to the Bookshop activities at other locations within the United Nations Headquarters site as well as within the New York City area.
