Description

In close collaboration with the UNAIDS Practice on Equality and Rights for All, Education Plus communications consultant, and UNAIDS Influencing, Communications and Partnerships team, the consultant will develop and implement an effective social media strategy to achieve advocacy goals related to the “Education Plus Initiative”.

Responsibilities
The consultancy will be for eleven months and will require different activities over the course of the implementation of the Education Plus Initiative. The consultant will provide lead support to:
1. Lead the social media overall strategy and delivery for the Education Plus Initiative.
2. Lead the development, management and quality assurance of Education Plus social media campaigns.
3. Ensure that Education Plus social media presence is timely, relevant and consistent with the Communications strategy and according to established guidelines, and is exciting, engaging and impactful.
4. Expand Education Plus Initiative’s social media audience, engagement and impact.
5. Conceive, design and launch original content on Education Plus for social media platforms including graphics, videos and interactive components.
6. Work closely with staff across the Education Plus co-sponsors to develop new and engaging content for social media.
7. Build strong networks with allied/partner organisations' social media teams.
8. Promote relationships with diverse Education Plus partners to increase outreach of Education Plus Initiative’s key messages as well as to undertake joint social media campaigns.
9. Establish and monitor the achievement of social media KPIs. Compile and analyze data from social media platforms to increase content performance.
10. Lead the monitoring of social media conversations and meaningfully engage with audiences to promote Education Plus Initiative’s position on key issues.
11. Use the social media platforms of the initiative to engage young people and support young people who will be protagonists in the initiative, and that this supports and reinforces civil society movements’ own advocacy.
12. Manage coverage of live events, field missions and conferences on Education Plus objectives.
13. In collaboration with UNAIDS social media lead, co-create and lead social media training for Education Plus focal points at regional and country-level.
14. Provide advice to senior leadership on social media issues in relation to Education Plus.
15. Perform other communications-related duties, as required.
