Description
1. The United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) is seeking qualified and experienced companies to provide 8x8 High Mobility Trucks that can operate effectively in the challenging terrain and weather conditions of the UNISFA area of responsibility. 2. The 8x8 High Mobility Trucks must be left-hand drive (LHD) suitable for operating on dirt roads and tracks, including Palletized Load System (PLS) to carry standardized containers. UNISFA has no paved roads and operates entirely on black cotton soil dirt road infrastructure, which becomes highly degraded during the prolonged 6–7 months rainy season with deep mud, large potholes, and flooded sections. Vehicles must have sufficient ground clearance and mobility to traverse these conditions. 3. The truck must be capable of carrying a standard 20ft ISO intermodal sea container measuring 6.1m x 2.4m x 2.6m (LWH) and weighing up to the certified payload capacity of the truck model offered. 4. This requirement also includes the provision of related spare parts which form part of the deployment Kit/package. The detailed spare parts list will be included in the solicitation documents. 2. Vendors who have the capacity to meet this requirement are encourged to submit their expression of interest (EOI) by the closing date of 05 January 2024. NOTE: 3. Submission of the EOI does not constitute an obligation by the United Nations to include your company in this specific procurement exercise, neither does it assure that a respective tender exercise will be undertaken in due course. 4. Vendors currently registered at basic level in the United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM) are encouraged to proceed and submit requirements for level 1 registration. 5. To be awarded a contract, a vendor must be registered with the UN Secretariat through the UNGM.
