SUPPLY OF PULSES

Background
World Food Programme (WFP) (“WFP”), with its Headquarters located in Via C.G. Viola, 68/70, 00148 Rome, Italy, is the leading humanitarian organization saving lives and changing lives, delivering food assistance in emergencies, and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience by assisting almost 100 million people in around 83 countries each year. About 17,000 people work for the organization, most of them in remote areas, directly serving the hungry poor.
WFP would like to expand its international list of pre-approved suppliers for PULSES, Reference to various types of Pulses Specifications included as Annex I (Yellow Split Peas), Annex II (Whole Chickpeas), Annex III (Whole Green/Red Lentils) and IV (Beans)
Response
If you are interested in supplying PULSES to WFP, complete the attached form (Annex V) indicating the below:
- Short description of your company
- Company’s website
- Experience with other international entities (if any)
- Capacity to supply Yellow Split Peas, Chickpeas, Whole Red Lentils/Whole Green Lentils, White Beans, and/or any other types of pulses,
- Ability to meet WFP’s specifications (see Annex I, Annex II, Annex III and Annex IV)
- Type of packaging your company could offer. Please note that WFP standard packaging for PULSES is 50 kg polypropylene bags.
Submission deadline
The response and the supporting documentation for this EOI should be submitted to e-mail address pulses.suppliers2023@wfp.org before the deadline for response to this EOI on 30 October 2023 at 16:00 hrs (Rome time zone).
Evaluation
WFP will regularly review responses to this EOI, until its deadline.
WFP will NOT consider incomplete responses or responses related to different items/commodities.
Only shortlisted companies will be notified by WFP and invited to proceed with WFP standard registration.
WFP standard registration requirements
To register as food supplier to WFP, companies need to meet registration criteria as outlined in the Annex VI-Doing Business with WFP. Those criteria include but are not limited to:
- Have legal capacity to enter into a contract.
- Be licenced to operate as an exporter.
- Have at least three (3) years of international experience in the production and/or trading of food commodities.
- Proof of financial capacity, with an annual turnover of a minimum of USD five (5) million for the last three (3) consecutive fiscal years.
If shortlisted, WFP Vendor Management Team (newsuppliers@wfp.org) will guide you through the standard registration in WFP roster. The steps to follow are explained in Annex VI. The ones are the following:
- Submit documents for registration on UNGM, up to Level 2. To do so, you will have to provide company’s certificate of incorporation, 3 audited financial statements, and 3 reference letters.
- Complete the Initial Paper Assessment form (“IPA”) with all its supporting documents.
