United Nations Global Service Center (UNGSC/UNLB) wishes to establish a one-year contract for the provision of height safety and telecommunications rigging training as well as the renewal of the certification for staff members who are already certified. The training should be delivered at the Regional Service Centre in Entebbe, Uganda during the period from 6 to 17 May 2013 (tentative dates) as well as in any other United Nations Peacekeeping Missions on an ‘as and when requested basis’: The primary objective of this programme is to provide the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) field staff with knowledge and skills required for building, inspecting, monitoring and maintaining wireless communications towers, as well as with an internationally recognized certification for working at height. Additionally the training should enable them to select the most appropriate equipment and tools to safely climb a tower, to safely handle the equipment, to install antennas, to ground and erect masts, and to protect themselves from radio frequency hazard General Conditions: Contractors interested in participating in this solicitation are invited to express their interest via fax or email citing the full name of the company, complete address, telephone and fax number as well as the name and title of a designated point of contact. This notice does not constitute solicitation. The UNGSC/UNLB reserves the right to change or cancel this requirement at any time in the EOI and/or solicitation process. The UNGSC/UNLB Procurement considers a firm's qualifications and experience in the particular commodity/service area, and previous performance, when preparing a list of invitees. Therefore, in case of EOIs concerning equipment or supplies, for responding vendors who are not manufacturers, full details of the vendor's status, as a factory-appointed wholesaler or distributor, must be provided if not already on file with UNLB Procurement.
