Description
UNON, on behalf of UN-HABITAT, seeks qualified firms to undertake the design and layout of the State of the European Cities in Transition 2013 and State of African Cities 2013 reports. The Contractor will be required to: 1. Submit at least two initial design proposals to the editorial team. 2. Work with UN-HABITAT personnel to create graphs, maps and charts suitable for publication. Specifically, knowledge is required for GIS maps and mapping software to generate professional maps on the basis of sketches provided. The Contractor will also be expected to advice on best methods of data presentation. 3. Complete layout of publication in English and other language versions (Russian for the European report and French for the Africa report) for soft back (paperback) format including submission of draft copies for peer review. 4. Research and source appropriate imagery to support the report content in collaboration with the UN-Habitat Editorial Team and produce professional maps, where required. 5. Liaise with selected publishing firm to ensure compatibility of artwork and timely submission of print-ready files. 6. Delivery of print-ready files and colour lasers to UN-HABITATand/or publisher, as required. Delivery of final document as a pdf. 7. Delivery of CD-ROMS of final print-ready files to UN-HABITAT.
