International STC for Critical care management for COVID-19 and beyond
BACKGROUND
Number of severe cases of COVID-19 is increasing in Lao PDR. The county may continue to see more severe cases of COVID-19 in longer term. It is needed to plan long-term capacity development of critical care in the country in addition to the immediate response
PURPOSE/SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE OF THE ACTIVITY
To support Ministry of Health through WHO to conduct situation analysis and to develop strategic action plan for long-term development for critical care management for COVID-19 and beyond
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES TO BE CARRIED OUT
- • Compile a situation analysis and baseline assessment on the current state of critical care in Lao PDR
- • Support MoH to develop 5-year strategic action plan on improving critical care in Lao PDR with consideration
- • To provide clinical advice to MoH and WHO for critical care of COVID-19
METHODS TO CARRY OUT THE ACTIVITY
- • Development of the documents in close communication with the supervisor and the team at WHO Lao country office
- • Regular online meeting with MoH and the team at WHO Lao country office
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION
Essential:
- - Medical degree
- - Speciality in Infectious prevention and Control or/and intensive care
EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- - Minimum of 10 years of clinical work in the areas related to critical care and infectious control and response
- - Minimum of 3 years of working experience in adult learning
- - Designing and providing trainings on COVID-19 management
- - Experience of working in Lao PDR is highly appreciated
TECHNICAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Designing hands-on training
LANGUAGES
English is required
