Review of the gap between policy documents on midwifery duties and regulations and practices to ensure optimal RMNCAH essential service delivery
BACKGROUND
WHO had supported the government on conducting the midterm review of the RMNCAH strategy and subsequent revision of the strategy. Through the midterm review, inconsistency between policy documents supporting midwife’s duties, responsibilities, expected competencies and actual practice was pointed out. Essential services are defined in Essential Health Service Package 2018-2020 (EHSP), and more than half of 121 essential services is related to RMNCAH.
