Description
Department of Safety and Security, Division of Headquarters of Security and Safety Services is enhancing the global physical security at the duty stations under the Security System project. This requisition has been raised for the provision, and installation of centralized control and compartmentalization for garage roller shutters at the UNESCAP building, in Bangkok, Thailand. We are seeking your Request for Information in carrying out this installation. The brief requirements are stated below and detailed requirements will be confirmed in the tender documents. The project duration is estimated to be 210 calendar days. There are 7 shutter doors on 2 levels and rubber smoke seals were installed on two sides of the shutters. The rubber smoke seal was identified as Asbestos Containing Material (ACM). These Asbestos Rubber Smoke seals (ARS) will be removed and replaced with new non-asbestos material according to An Asbestos Abatement Plan. Below is the scope of requirements, in brief: 1. Centralized control and compartmentalization for garage roller shutters. a) Remove the existing 7 garage roller shutters including the controls and dispose of them by the contractor. The locations of existing garage roller shutters are as follows. i. UNCC Building: located in the upper basement 3 sets. ii. UNCC Building: located in the lower basement 4 sets. b) Removal must be carried out according to the asbestos abatement plan. c) Supply and install garage roller shutters to replace the original ones, including basic structures such as control panels, LED flashing amber beacon, safety edge, light beam systems, etc. d) The roller shutters are to be electrically operated and controlled by the open and close which should be installed to the control panel. e) The smoke seals, if required, shall use non-asbestos-containing materials. f) The system must be compatible with the existing Simplex 2.02.02 fire alarm system and be able to connect to the automatic closing of the shutter in the event of a general fire alarm. g) Garage roller shutters need to be configured and tested. 2. Provide all necessary materials, equipment, and labour to remove the garage roller shutters and install the new roller shutters. 3. Provide UNESCAP with a method statement, and schedule for the removal of the garage roller shutters according to the asbestos abatement plan. 4. The method statement must include the methodology for removing, handling and disposal of the Asbestos Rubber Smoke seals (ARS) according to the asbestos abatement plan. 5. Cleaning services shall be included to ensure no particles or fibres are left in the work area, according to the asbestos abatement plan. 6. The installation should be phased to minimize disruption and not interfere with normal business operations. 7. Protect all equipment, furniture, floors, walls, and ceilings with plastic protection sheets.
