UNV ONLINE VOLUNTEERING SITE REDESIGN PROJECT

The United Nations Volunteers programme (UNV) in Bonn, Germany is inviting qualified web consulting companies to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) to undertake the UNV Online Volunteering (www.onlinevolunteering.org) site redesign and rebuild.

Launched in 2000, the Online Volunteering (OV) service connects development-focused organizations with online volunteers from around the globe. The OV redesign project aims to:

·         increase the service reach to the global community by implementing a multilingual site (English, French, Spanish) compliant with currently recognized web accessibility standards

·         improve the user interface and site architecture

·         provide all service stakeholders (organizations, online volunteers and service administrators) with more relevant content and functionality

The services required for this project are:

·         functional and technical design

·         information architecture and graphic design

·         implementation on open-source technologies

·         migration of existing data

·         complete documentation and UNV staff training on delivered solution

Only vendors able to provide all of the above and with proven experience in this field will be considered. Expressions of Interest should include the following:

·         Company profile, including experience with projects of similar scope (design and implementation of multi-lingual, database-driven web applications, preferably in open-source technologies)

·         At least 5 customer references including project URL, description and services provided

·         Short description of design and implementation methodology

·         List of international technical and quality assurance certificates held by the company (if any)

·         Financial statements for the last 3 years demonstrating financial soundness

The EOI and accompanying documents must be received no later than 05 April 2007, 17:00 hours (Bonn time) and be forwarded to the following address in sealed envelops with 'OV EOI' marked on the envelope:

UNV reserves the right to accept or reject any Expression of Interest.  Only qualified companies will be invited to participate in the possible subsequent contracting exercise. Nothing in this EOI shall be taken to form a binding legal contract. Invitations to bid and any subsequent purchase order will be issued in accordance with the rules and procedures of UNDP.
