UNDPIRH-202002-CFP-01-SLOVAK INNOVATION CHALLANGE
The UNDP-Slovakia Partnership: Effective Development Cooperation Solutions aims to respond to the development challenges by transferring Slovak expertise and innovative solutions for SDGs to partner countries.
The objective of the Slovak Challenge Fund is to facilitate the transfer of Slovak know-how and innovative solutions that would address development challenges identified by UNDP Country Offices in North Macedonia or the Republic of Moldova, and contribute to the achievement of SDGs.
The eligible applicants include Slovak private sector entities. The applicants are required to engage local partners to assure viability in local conditions, and to promote sustainability and scalability of the solution.

Locality: North Macedonia or the Republic of Moldova
Development Challenges:
- To support sustainable socio-economic development, and empowered and resilient communities in partner countries, the proposed projects / solutions will address one of the following development challenges:
- Sustainable use of natural resources through improved water management, waste management, or increased energy efficiency and clean energy utilization in residential, agriculture and other sectors.
- Increased productivity, partnerships, access to markets and competitiveness of organic agriculture actors like farmers and producers.
- Introducing / improving e-governance and open data use in public sector management and delivery.
Expected contract start date: April/May 2020
Expected contract length: up to 12 months
Estimated prize: Ranging between US$20,000 and US$40,000, the applicants provide co-funding of at least 20% of the total cost of the project.
The applicants must submit their proposals using the application form in Annex 2 and 3.

Sustainable Procurement practices integrate requirements, specifications, and criteria that are compatible and in favour of the protection of the environment, the social progress and in support of economic development. EMS, waste management and wastewater management.
The tender contains sustainability considerations related to the protection of the environment, biodiversity and restoration of natural habitats.
Examples:
Sustainable/ organic agriculture, fishing or forestry.
The tender contains sustainability considerations promoting the sustainable use of resources.
Examples:
Energy-saving measures, recycling, take-back programmes and responsible end-of-life management
