Description
The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) invites suitably qualified firms to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in the upcoming competitive bidding exercise for the Provision of canine and handler services, and unarmed security guarding. The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) complex is situated on 146 acres in Gigiri, Nairobi, surrounded by a perimeter of 4.25km. Located within its boundaries are 48 low-rise buildings which house the administrative, substantive and support offices for the UN entities mentioned above. Annexed to the main complex are three additional commercial structures: the Commercial Material Management Facility (CMMF / Commissary) building and the United Nations Recreation Centre (UNRC) and petrol station. The scope of these services encompasses the provision of trained dog handlers to patrol designated areas within the UNON Complex using guard dogs. Their primary responsibilities include preventing unauthorized access, safeguarding life and property, maintaining order, and deterring criminal activities in and around the UN compound. Additionally, the dog handlers are tasked with enforcing the rules and regulations governing access to buildings and facilities under the jurisdiction of UNON. The scope includes the following: • Provision of Seven (7) Dogs and Seven (7) Dog Handlers • Provision of Eight (8) Unarmed Security personnel patrol the UN Petrol Station Subsequent to the closing date of this EOI, UNON anticipates to issue a formal solicitation document to potential companies who have expressed interest to provide the services in accordance with the requirements that will be fully specified in the solicitation document.
